The SolBrid: New and especially flexible Steca hybrid inverter for up to four PV strings
7 June 2023, Memmingen - Steca presents its newly developed StecaGrid SolBrid, an especially flexible and powerful three-phase 10 kW hybrid inverter. It is equipped with up to 4 MPP trackers, meaning that is is also suitable for photovoltaic systems on complex roofs. The battery charging current of up to 25A also makes it possible to connect a wide range of high-voltage batteries. In combination with the StecaGrid Switch, the SolBrid inverter can enable islanding operation if required when the electricity grid is not available due to a blackout. All consumers in the building can be supplied with emergency power from the PV system or the battery.

“With the new SolBrid, we are providing installers with an especially flexible solution that can be used to achieve a host of different system variants. Be it complex roofs, different module and battery types, or backup power capability, the new Steca inverter covers a wide range of applications”, says Dr. Peter Grabs from KATEK Memmingen GmbH.

Setup via app and variable interfaces
The new inverter is conveniently installed via an app, and the operating data can also be read out via mobile devices. The IP65 standard housing means that it can also be installed outdoors.
An RS485 interface is integrated for connection to the StecaGrid Switch grid disconnector and other energy meters, as is a battery controller for the BYD storage system (other storage systems to follow).

StecaGrid Switch for even more functions
When the StecaGrid Switch is installed in parallel with the StecaGrid SolBrid, the range of functions is expanded even further: The intelligent grid disconnector not only enables emergency power operation, but also real-time measurement of energy consumption with precise monitoring of the building within an accuracy of two percent.
